I don’t believe it is Granddad, Shana, look at the hair cut, that is a hair cut caused by grandpa’s horse sheers, also the photo is to “new”, this is obviously a photo taken in the 40’s.
As it first loaded on my screen, with only the hair and eyes showing, I thought it was my nephew, Donald. As I look at it more I can see Hunter and Heath. So here are my Answers…
1. It is Uncle Don.
2. 6 years old
3. School portrait, in Colorado
4. First Grade
5. and I bet he was born in a log cabin.
When will I find out if I won??? HUH!
Needless to say, the first published "Hyperbole Trivial Pursuit" was very disppointing in two regards. One, there was only two hits on the question. For those that visit the site and not members of the family, don't hesitate in commenting or guessing, I assure you that you could do no worse than the two responders that left answers. Somewhat disappointing since they are my daughters - now let's see which one was correct.
#1 Who? His name is Stanley Harrington a.k.a. as "Butch" back in those days.
#2 Age? Six years old, 54 years ago!
#3 Picture Taken? Northside Elementary School, Montrose, Colorado fall of 1951
#4 Grade in School? 1st Grade
#5 Born? In a log cabin, very small log cabin, located on a small dirt farm south of Montrose, Colorado. I was the last of the Harrington children to be born at home.
So, it would appear to me that neither of these respondents got the correct answer, especially the most important and that being Who is this? This is really sad, because the majority of this information was contained in the Christmas letter that I sent to your children this past Christmas -perhaps you did not take time to read that! If you had, you would have seen the picture and dates on that picture. How disappointing, did not even recognize your own father! However, the good news is that there was a winner. I did recieve one email that got all of the questions correct, this individual prefers to remain anonymous so I will not disclose their identity. They are the recipient of one gournet box of non-girl scout cookies, sorry no girl scout cookies have been delivered to me. Heidi, you are right in one respect, I do not remember but I can recognize the cut, my hair was most likely cut by those god awful horse sheers. The last time they were used was just a few days before Don past away - he wanted a haircut and dispatched Donnie to his tack room to fetch the sheers, Donnie and Dee cut his hair with them. Hopefully, they will be retired after an excess of 60 years! Perhaps, the next trivial pursuit will be a little easier for you!
Damn I second guessed myself...should have stayed with the first guess...
I think I should be the winner...I posted my answer for all to read...and I got questions 2 through 5 right....I need to speak to the judges. This is bogus...
PS ...glad you figured out how to post photo's.
Heidi - Pertaining to your personal opinion on the "bogus" decison and desire to talk to the judges! You are talking to the judge, Hyperbole Prattle is not a democracy! You have been fairly judged, the reason you were not considered is that you did not even know it was your father! To be fair, all viewers to our sites are not bloggers, threfore they cannot sign in there fore I have decreed that email responses will be accepted, several of your cousins in Colroado and Arizona are going to be visitng the sites -perhaps in time they will join us! I will try to make an easy trivia question for you to answer. I am surprised that neither of you commented pertaining to the Kid's Chrismtas letters and that picture was contained there in? LOL to you Both, but please, brush up on your family history! P.S. You might keep in mind that some of these pictures are one of a kind and if printed, they may be of interest in later years because I plan on taking them with me if "Dutch" doesn't want them.
Oh you suck...I get the photo's!!! I double Dibbs them... but I am also stealing them off your site so keep them coming!
